FC Dallas Forward Fabian Castillo Named to Colombian U-20 National Team for Upcoming World Cup

FRISCO, Texas (Thursday, July 14) - FC Dallas forward Fabian Castillo is among the final 21 players chosen by Colombian Under-20 National Team head coach Eduardo Lara to represent the host country in the upcoming FIFA U-20 World Cup beginning July 29 in Barranquilla, Colombia.

"We are all very proud of Fabian's selection to Colombia's U-20 squad," said FC Dallas head coach Schellas Hyndman. "Fabian will be representing his country, FC Dallas and MLS at the FIFA U-20 Championships, and we are excited to see him demonstrate his skills and talents to the world at this very prestigious tournament."

Castillo has been training with the national team since June 22 in Bogotá. On Thursday, July 14, the team will begin its final camp in preparation for their July 30 opening match against France at the Estadio Nemesio Camacho "El Campin."

Since joining FC Dallas on March 7, 2011, Castillo has two goals and three assists in 1,107 minutes.
