Earthquakes Season Ticket Holders Will Try to Boot It Like Bingham

SAN JOSE, Calif. - Earthquakes Season Ticket Holders will have the opportunity to match San Jose goalkeeper David Bingham's incredible 90-yard goal following the club's July 20 match against Vancouver Whitecaps FC. Should any fan score from the same spot where Bingham launched his goal against West Bromwich Albion, they would win free 2012 Earthquakes season tickets.
Each Season Ticket Holder in attendance will have one opportunity to make Bingham's shot for free season tickets. Participation is limited to current Earthquakes Season Ticket Holders.
Bingham's goal came in the third minute of a friendly against the English Premier League side on July 12 at Buck Shaw Stadium. The ball soared past the Baggies' back line, bounced once and scooted over goalkeeper Boaz Myhill's head for a goal. The Earthquakes went on to win 2-1, San Jose's first ever victory against an English Premier League team.
Bingham, a local product who is from Pleasanton and went to Cal, made his first career start at Buck Shaw Stadium. He is just the third goalkeeper in MLS history to score a goal and the second to score from beyond the half field line.
*Contest is exclusive to 2011 San Jose Earthquakes Season Ticket Holders. One attempt per account. Participant must be the name on the season ticket account to participate, no substitutions will be allowed. No cleats will be permitted to prevent damage to the field. All contestants must sign a waiver in order to participate. Offer is only valid for July 20, 2011. If a goal is scored, all seats on the account will be renewed free of charge for the 2012 season. Offer applies to all Season Ticket Holder accounts regardless of seating location.
