February 3, 2020 - Major League Soccer (MLS)
FC Cincinnati News Release
CINCINNATI and TAMPA, Fla. - FC Cincinnati and Venuetize today announced that the Major League Soccer club will release a Venuetize-powered mobile application designed to offer a superior fan experience for the team's final year in Nippert Stadium in 2020, and then an enhanced fan experience - including expanded in-stadium amenities - as the team transitions to its new, state-of-the-art West End Stadium in 2021.
The app will be available for download on iPhone and Android devices in mid-February before the team takes the field for its second MLS season on March 1, 2020.
The Phase I launch in 2020 will include fans' ticketing experience through full SeatGeek integration, allowing ticket holders to manage, buy and transfer tickets to games inside the FC Cincinnati application. Additionally, it will include comprehensive team information and seamless integration of MLS information, including Matchcenter and streams.
"We're thrilled to be working with a partner like Venuetize, whose key focus is on creating customized fan experiences to enhance their engagement with the club 365 days a year," Dennis Carroll, FC Cincinnati Chief Operating Officer, said. "We've been very impressed by the thought and advances their team has made with other clients - both at the team and venue levels - and are excited about how we can build the mobile app to suit our unique fanbase. We're excited to be able to release an app customized to our final season in Nippert Stadium, then expand the app's capabilities for our move to West End Stadium in 2021 to really create a fan-focused experience that is unique to every fan who uses the app."
"Venuetize is excited to partner with FC Cincinnati and to be a part of their next-generation mobile strategy. They have a loyal, digitally engaged fan base and are soon opening a state-of-the-art stadium that will showcase how technology and design can deliver memorable experiences. Venuetize has the platform that will support the needs of their fans today while also enhancing what their West End Stadium will provide fans in the future," said Jim Tobin, VP, Sports & Entertainment of Venuetize. "By launching the club app in two phases, Venuetize will aid in helping position FC Cincinnati as a world-class sports & entertainment destination."
The app's Phase II release will include a venue-specific mobile experience for the new $250 million, privately financed West End Stadium which will open in Spring 2021. Mobile commerce, mobile ordering, augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) are just a few of the features that will be added to enhance the fan experience while showcasing many of the advanced technical achievements of the new stadium.
Venuetize is the mobile engagement and smart venue partner of many of the most forward-thinking sports and entertainment organizations in the world, including the PGA TOUR, LAFC, New York Red Bulls, the Memphis Grizzlies, the Miami Dolphins, Live! Casino & Hotels, and many more.
