FC Cincinnati to Play Inaugural Home Match on April 9 at Nippert Stadium

CINCINNATI - FC Cincinnati announced today that it will host its first home match on April 9, 7 p.m. at Nippert Stadium followed by a second home match on April 16, 7 p.m. The full schedule with dates, times and opponents will be announced later this week by the United Soccer League (USL).

On April 16, FC Cincinnati has been chosen by the league to host the USL Experience, an event that invites 70 of the best youth players from around the country to experience being a USL professional soccer player. Participating youth will watch FC Cincinnati practice sessions, meet with players and attend the FC match on April 16. While in Cincinnati, they will practice and compete against local youth teams on the morning before the match.

"Soccer fans in Cincinnati have enthusiastically responded to FC Cincinnati as we have sold more than 3,000 seats, which is the among the highest in the USL," said Jeff Berding, President & GM of FC Cincinnati.

FC Cincinnati will join the United Soccer League (USL) and play its season from March through September. John Harkes, a veteran of Major League Soccer and the U.S. National Team, has been named head coach. The Club joined the USL's East Division as the league's 26th club. Rivals in the USL will include Louisville City FC, Pittsburgh, New York Red Bulls II and Saint Louis FC, among others.
