Spokane Shock News Release
Spokane, WA: The Spokane Shock announced today that FB Clay Harrell has been added to the 2011 roster. In another roster move, Spokane placed FB Nekos Brown on re-assignment.
Harrell, 6-2 310, is the 13th member of the ArenaBowl XXIII Champion roster to re-sign with the team.
Last season, Harrell played in 14 games and recorded 56 rushing yards (averaging 4.7/carry) with five touchdowns.
"Clay is a tough nosed player who is very versatile," Head Coach Rob Keefe explained. "He also brings a lot of veteran leadership to the line. Sometimes the quietest players are the best leaders. Without any questions or problems they just go out and do their job and that's exactly what Clay is for our team. He's a person who might have six or seven injuries on his body but he just goes out and plays through the pain. The other guys see that and they want to rally and play well for him."
The ArenaBowl Champion Shock will begin the 2011 season in San Jose as they visit the SaberCats. On March 19th, the Shock will return to Spokane to host the Cleveland Gladiators.
