Fayetteville SwampDogs News Release

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - After waiting two days, the Columbia Blowfish finally earned a victory over the Fayetteville SwampDogs, capturing a 6-5 victory in a game suspended from Saturday because of rain and lightning.

The Blowfish played as the home team for the first game of the doubleheader at J.P. Riddle Stadium on Monday night, and snapped a seven-game losing streak. The SwampDogs losing streak has now been extended to four games, pending the result of the upcoming back-end of the doubleheader.

Austin Pritcher (2-2) earned the win, while Addison Dunn (0-1) took the loss. Neither pitched in the portion of the game on Monday. Scott Robinson earned his first save, stranding Dylan Brown at second base as the tying run in the top of the ninth inning. It's the third straight game the SwampDogs have left the tying run in scoring position in the ninth.

John Hogan led the Fayetteville (9-9) offense with a single, double, and 2 RBI's. The loss drops the SwampDogs a full game behind the Florence RedWolves for first place in the CPL South.

Game two of the doubleheader is scheduled to begin at 8:00 p.m.
