Green Bay Blizzard News Release
The Green Bay Blizzard's June 22nd home game against the Fort Wayne Fusion will be the team's third annual "Ladies Night," sponsored by St. Mary's Hospital's A Woman's Place. The footballs provided by the AFL for use during the game will feature a unique pink stripe especially for "Ladies Night." As many fans know, balls that go into the stands during the course of play are theirs to keep, but this week the Blizzard are adding a bonus for one lucky fan who catches a ball on "Ladies Night." One of the pink footballs that will be used during the game is autographed by Brett and Deanna Favre to help raise awareness about breast cancer and the Deanna Favre Hope Foundation.
The Deanna Favre Hope Foundation was founded to provide assistance to women who are underserved or underinsured in the battle against breast cancer. At the age of 35 Deanna was diagnosed with breast cancer. Deanna says that she defeated the disease through Hope, Faith, and Love. Her foundation is therefore dedicated to help disadvantaged women in their struggles against breast cancer.
The pink football autographed by Brett and Deanna will go into the stands at some point during the June 22nd game and the fan that catches it will get to take it home. The ball will be placed in the rotation on gameday with the other pink footballs to be used throughout the game. Tickets for this Friday night's game are still available; fans should contact the Blizzard office at (920)405-1264 for more information on your chance to catch the Brett and Deanna Favre autographed football.
