
FanFest Activities Build Game-Day Atmosphere in Sacramento

SACRAMENTO, CA - Wednesday, September 22, 2010 - The Sacramento Mountain Lions' first home game will bring more than just professional football to Hornet Stadium on September 25th. As the Mountain Lions prepare to face off against the Florida Tuskers, fans will enjoy a pregame experience unlike any in professional sports. The event, nicknamed "FanFest" begins at 5:00 pm in Parking Lot 8, game kickoff is at 8:00 pm.
"FanFest blows out the traditional, college football tailgating experience," explains Director of Business Management Joe Wagoner. "We've engaged local talent and really hope to provide an amazing pregame environment for the community".
Hometown legend Jackie Greene will perform throughout FanFest as well as during the halftime show. Additional entertainment during FanFest includes emcee Tony Tecate, dj'ing by DJ EJ, cheer performances, coach and player interviews, and the Grant High School drumline.
In addition to live music, FanFest will feature a rock wall, bounce houses, big-screen Madden video games, facepainting and interactive family activities. Mountain Lions merchandise will be available for sale to the public for the first time, both pre-game and in-stadium.
Surrounding the FanFest area, attendees are welcome to pull up a grill and tailgate with friends and family. Food vendors will also be on hand serving up barbecue, kettle corn and game-day favorites from local eateries. Tailgaters may bring their own alcoholic beverages. Alcohol will not be sold in FanFest per State requirements, but will be sold at several locations within the stadium. Additional tailgate regulations are available at SacMountainLions.com.
Fans won't lose the FanFest experience when they leave the parking lot. The Mountain Lions' home opener will also feature local entertainment. Telsa lead signer Jeff Keith will lead the national anthem. Prior to halftime, local sport celebrities, Tyreke Evans of the Sacramento Kings, and Urijah Faber, mixed martial artist, will face off in a football skills challenge on the field during television timeouts.
Tickets for the game start at just $15, parking in the Sac State lots is an additional $5, FanFest activities are free to those attending. Game tickets are available online at www.SacMountainLions.com.
