Fan-Favorite Paul Bissonnette Returns to Reign for 2016-17

Ontario, CA -The Ontario Reign, proud American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate of the Los Angeles Kings of the National Hockey League (NHL), have agreed to terms with veteran forward Paul Bissonnette.
Bissonnette, 31, enters his 12th professional season after adding two goals and an assist for three points in 35 regular-season contests with the Reign last season and picked up 51 penalty minutes. In 13 Calder Cup Playoff games, the Welland, Ontario, native grabbed a goal and an assist for three points and 17 penalty minutes.
"It's great to have Biss back," mentioned Reign Head Coach Mike Stothers at Kings Development Camp yesterday. "We've always had a good veteran group. A good core group. Part of the process is to surround [the young players] with veteran guys and guys that are familiar with our team and how things work."
"I'm excited," explained Bissonnette. "I told [Stothers] as soon as last season was done that if I were to keep playing, it wouldn't be for anyone other than him. I like what the organization is about and I feel comfortable there. Through my time playing, I'd say he is my favorite coach and I'd run through a wall for that guy. I'm happy to be back and build on last season as far as the success we had."
Last summer, the 6-foot-2, 216-pound winger became the first AHL Reign agreement after helping the Kings' affiliate capture the Calder Cup in Manchester, New Hampshire. In 202 career NHL contests between the Pittsburgh Penguins and Phoenix Coyotes, Bissonnette totaled 22 points (seven goals, 15 assists) and 340 penalty minutes. Over 252 AHL games with Ontario, Manchester, Portland and Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, he picked up 40 points (16 goals, 24 assists).
