Huntsville Stars News Release

Stars fans, make sure that you come out to the Joe early this Sunday, April 27th, when the Stars take on the Jacksonville Suns as the Principal Financial Group Family Fun Fest returns to Huntsville!

The free family fun gets started three hours before first pitch at 11:05 a.m. This year, the Principal Financial Group Family Fun Fest is offering batting and pitching cages, Bungee Runs, Super Slide, the Xbox 360 Best Buy Home Run Video Game Trailer with Rock Band Stage, a Minor League Baseball museum, and a chance to put yourself on a free souvenir Days Inn baseball card or Sports Illustrated for Kids magazine cover. Also while you're there, don't forget to visit Homer the Polecat who'll be hanging out at the Family Fun Fest as well as Stars pitcher David Welch who will be on hand to sign autographs and take pictures before the game.

And remember, if you donate new or used baseball equipment to "Pitch In For Baseball" you will receive a coupon for Xbox 360 software at Best Buy and a half-price ticket from the Stars for the game on Sunday.

Once again the best part is that the entire Family Fun Fest is FREE! Fans get a great family afternoon thanks to our friends at the Principal Financial Group, and you can help a great cause by donating baseball equipment. It's a win-win all the way around. It's going to be a great midday of fun with the Fun Fest followed by an afternoon of Suns & Stars baseball. Shoot the moon and c'mon out for a family day like no other!

For more information, visit www.principal.com/funfest.

The Stars knocked off the Mizzipp Braves earlier today, 9-1. Starting Pitcher Sam Narron threw a two-hitter and didn't allow a run until the bottom of the 9th inning. The lads are hanging tough and that showdown with the Carolina Mudcats here beginning May 15th is beginning to look like it will be playoff potential baseball. The Stars are now 12-8 on the season and return home tomorrow for a five-game homestand against the Jacksonville Suns, the LA Dodgers AA affiliate. Don't forget to wear 70's clothing Thursday night as we're going to have some fun (and embarrassing moments). Those dressed in 70's clothing for the night will compete in a post-game fashion show for prizes.
