
Familiar Faces Returning to Trax

MACON, Ga. â Macon Trax General Manager Joe Suk and Head Coach Tommy Stewart today announced the signing of five players to the Macon Trax.
Forwards David Deeves, Edan Welch, defensemen Brad Rice and Steve Howard, members of last season's team, will again join the Trax for the 2003- 2004 season. Center Bob Clouston was also signed.
"Tommy and I are very happy with the players that we have signed thus far." Suk said. "There is no doubt that the great hockey fans of Middle Georgia are going to be excited to see some of their Trax favorites back from last season."
Deeves averaged more than a point a game for the Trax last season with 59 points on 28 goals and 31 assists in 56 regular season games. In three playoff games, he had one goal.
Welch played in 56 games for the Trax last season where he had 57 points on 26 goals and 31 assists. In the first round of the playoffs, Welch notched an assist.
Defenseman Rice amassed 141 penalty minutes in 49 games for the Trax last season. Rice contributed 21 points during the regular season.
Howard had 26 points on six goals and 20 assists in 55 games. He contributed an assist during the Trax playoff run.
Clouston was a member of the 1999 â 2000 CHL Tulsa Oilers where he had five points in 11 games before having to leave the sport to take care of a family member.
The Macon Trax will face off against the Jacksonville Barracudas, Lakeland Loggerheads, Miami Manatees, Orlando Seals, and a yet to be name team in Central Alabama. Each team will play a 60 game schedule beginning in late October.
