Falk, Kassian Recalled by Wild

HOUSTON --- Minnesota Wild General Manager Chuck Fletcher today announced the National Hockey League (NHL) club has recalled defenseman Justin Falk and forward Matt Kassian from the Houston Aeros of the American Hockey League (AHL).

Falk, 22 (10/11/88), has registered one assist and two penalty minutes (PIM) in three games with the Aeros since being reassigned Nov. 18. Falk has posted two assists and was a plus-two while accruing six penalty minutes in 16 games with the Wild this season. The 6-foot-5, 217-pound native of Snowflake, Manitoba, averaged 14:44 time on ice (TOI) with Minnesota. He played three games with the Wild last season, while tallying nine points (3-6=9) in 69 games with the Aeros. Falk was originally selected by Minnesota in the fourth round (No. 110 overall) of the 2007 NHL Entry Draft. Falk wears No. 41 with the Wild.

Kassian, 24 (10/28/86), has two points (1-1=2) and a team-high 50 PIM in 17 games with the Aeros this season. Kassian was originally recalled by the Wild Nov. 3 and made his NHL debut Friday, Nov. 5 against Calgary. He skated in two games with the Wild, averaging 4:32 TOI and accruing seven PIM. Kassian recorded six points (2-4=6) in 59 games with the Aeros in 2009-10 and led the club with 149 PIM. The 6-foot-5, 252-pound native of Edmonton, Alberta, was originally selected by Minnesota in the second round (No. 57 overall) of the 2005 NHL Entry Draft. Kassian wears No. 28 with the Wild.

The Aeros travel to Cedar Park to face the Texas Stars (10-7-0-0) Wednesday night at 7:30 p.m. and return home for a pair of games Friday (vs. San Antonio) and Saturday (Milwaukee), both at 7:35 p.m.
