
Falcons to Host 2005-06 Home Opener on Oct. 22

Springfield,Mass. - The Springfield Falcons of the American Hockey League today announced that the club will play their home opener of the 2005-06 regular season on Saturday, Oct. 22. The contest, as well as all Falcons' home games next season, will be played at the MassMutual Center which will have completely undergone its two-year renovation.
In addition to the Oct. 22 home opener, the Falcons also announced four other early season home dates at the MassMutual Center:

Sat, Nov. 12
Fri, Nov. 18
Fri, Dec. 30
"Now that we know the date of our home opener and select other games, our staff can start working on group sales and possible promotions especially for opening night," said Falcons President and General Manager Bruce Landon. "We will sell out opening night. We want to create an event that fans will remember as they attend the first regular season game in our beautiful new facility."
Opponents and the Falcons' full season schedule are yet to be determined and will be announced later this summer.
The 2005-06 campaign will be the 12th for the Falcons and their second with the 2004 Stanley Cup Champion Tampa Bay Lightning as their sole NHL affiliate. The soon-to-be completed renovation of the MassMutual Center will enable fans to enjoy many amenities for the first time at Falcons games such as a new center hung 28-foot video scoreboard and club seating.
