Falcons Marchessault Recalled by Blue Jackets

Springfield, Mass. - The Springfield Falcons announced Wednesday morning that forward Jonathan Marchessault was recalled by the Columbus Blue Jackets, the team's NHL affiliate.

In 31 games with the Falcons this season, Marchessault has totaled a team-leading 26 points, 12 goals, 14 assists, seven power-play goals and four game-winning goals. In 12 December games, the Quebec City native notched an AHL-best 15 points and eight goals.

Marchessault appeared in two games with the Blue Jackets in 2012-13, recording a combined 21:53 of ice time and a -1 rating. Columbus is on the road in Phoenix and plays the Coyotes Thursday at 9:00 p.m.

The Falcons are back in action Friday when they visit the Albany Devils at the Times Union Center. The team returns to the MassMutual Center Saturday, January 4 to host the Providence Bruins at 7:00 p.m. Garden legend Rene Rancourt will perform the National Anthem and sign autographs for fans at Saturday's game.

Fans are invited to the MassMutual Center in 2013-14 to watch the reigning Northeast Division-champion Falcons compete in their 20th anniversary season.
