Springfield, Mass. - The Springfield Falcons, AHL affiliate of the NHL's Columbus Blue Jackets, revealed their third jersey for the 2012-2013 season on Wednesday. The sweater, which is the first alternate uniform in club history, will be debuted by the club on opening night, Saturday, Oct. 13 against the St. John's IceCaps at the MassMutual Center.

"We are thrilled to have the opportunity to introduce the first third jersey in franchise history," Falcons President and General Manager Bruce Landon said. "It is exciting to be able to complement the start of a new and promising season with a fresh look."

The alternate jersey is colored red, with red, white and blue sleeves, blue shoulders, and white numbering and lettering. The club's alternate logo is on the front of the jersey containing the word "Springfield" in blue lettering while the word "Falcons" is stretched along the bottom portion of the front of the jersey in white lettering.
