Falcons Announce Opening Night Battle of the Bands Contest
July 28, 2009 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Springfield Falcons News Release
Springfield, MA - The Springfield Falcons, proud members of the American Hockey League, announced today the details of their first ever Opening Night Battle of The Bands Contest. This will be a summer long contest for a spot on a performance stage during the Falcons 2009-2010 home opener on Saturday, October 3.
"We are very excited to host this fun event and we really feel it will add to the entertainment value of our home opener," said Falcons manager of marketing and entertainment Jason Gonet. "This will be a great opportunity for local bands to promote their talent in front of a large audience at a Falcons game."
Bands interested in competing are encouraged to send in a media kit consisting of band photos, a non returnable CD(s), completed application form, artist(s) bio(s) and band bio immediately to the Falcons Office.
Once all entries are collected, a panel of judges will choose the band that will be participating in the 2009-2010 opening night festivities. The band that is chosen will get publicity in the marketing of opening night through falconsahl.com, a press release, in-game presentation elements, performance at the game, YouTube, Facebook and possible print and radio advertising.
