Springfield Falcons News Release
Springfield, Mass. - The Springfield Falcons announced their home dates on Monday for the upcoming Eastern Conference Semifinals of the 2013 Calder Cup Playoffs.
The Falcons will open up the best-of-seven series at the MassMutual Center with Game 1 on Friday, May 10, and Game 2 on Saturday, May 11.
Fans can purchase tickets for all four potential home games of the series now at the MassMutual Center Box Office, or through Ticketmaster.com. 10-Flex Playoff Packs, which allow fans to purchase 10 vouchers that are redeemable at any home game during the postseason, remain on sale by calling (413) 739-GOAL (4625). Unused vouchers can be returned to the Falcons' front office until Jun. 30 for a credit toward any 2013-14 ticket package.
After taking to the road for Games 3, 4, and 5, Springfield will return home for Game 6 on Tuesday, May 21, and Game 7 on Wednesday, May 22. Games 5, 6, and 7 of the series will be played only if necessary.
All four home games of the Eastern Conference Semifinals will start at 7 p.m.
The Falcons' opponent will either be the Hershey Bears or the Syracuse Crunch. Springfield will learn the identity of its opponent on Wednesday night, when Hershey and Providence play Game 5 of the best-of-five Eastern Conference Quarterfinals. A Bruins victory would match the Falcons up with the Crunch. If the Bears win, Springfield will meet Hershey.
Below is the Falcons' home schedule for the Eastern Conference Semifinals:
Game 1 - Friday, May 10, 7 p.m., MassMutual Center
Game 2 - Saturday, May 11, 7 p.m., MassMutual Center
Game 6 - Tuesday, May 21, 7 p.m., MassMutual Center (if necessary)
Game 7 - Wednesday, May 22, 7 p.m., MassMutual Center (if necessary)
The Falcons defeated the Manchester Monarchs, 3-1, in the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals, becoming the second team in AHL history to win three games in overtime in a best-of-five series.
