Bismarck Bobcats News Release
Bismarck Bobcats center Jason Fabian has verbally committed to play for the Air Force Academy beginning in the 2010 season. Fabian is the second player from the Bobcats to commit to the Air Force Falcons this season (goalie David Bosner committed in November). Currently, Fabian has 17 points (7 goals, 10 assist) in 26 games with the Bobcats this season.
"I felt that getting a solid education was more important to my decision," said Fabian, a native of Roseau, Minnesota. "This is a great opportunity for me to play hockey and get my education at an elite instituti on."
Even though Fabian is committed to the Falcons, he would still like to improve his game.
"The goal is to get bigger, faster, and stronger over the next year and half," Fabian said about staying in juniors for another season before he jumps to the NCAA. "Also, I would like to have better hands for the Division I level."
Fabian says that the Division I commitments from himself, Bosner and defenseman John Clark (Army) this season speaks to the character of the Bobcats team.
"We have an excellent group of individuals that have become a united team. We have the pieces to be a Robertson Cup Champion this season; however we must earn that accomplishment together as a team."
Bobcat Head Coach Byron Pool said, "Jason is a great athlete and even better person. He will continue to improve and has continued to be a threat on the ice for us this season. "
The Bobcats will play again on December 31, 2008 (New Year's Eve) in Owatonna to take on the Express. You can watch all the games online through the B2 Networks and listen to the game on Super Talk 1270AM. "The Dvorak Motors Pre-Game Show" starts at 6:00pm CST with the "Voice of the Bobcats," Skip Berry.
