Bloomington Extreme News Release
BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - Bloomington Extreme defensive lineman Quince Holman has signed a contract with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats of the Canadian Football League, head coach Ted Schmitz announced Wednesday.
Holman will play the first six games with the Extreme before going to the Tiger-Cats camp. Bloomington opens the season Friday at 7:35 p.m. at U.S. Cellular Coliseum against the Rock River Raptors.
"We're fortunate that Hamilton is letting Quince play in our first six games," said Schmitz, who also is a talent scout for Hamilton. "Quince wanted to play for us before he went to their camp and they gave him permission, which we appreciate.
"Quince will be tough to replace, but we're happy he's getting this opportunity. Hamilton liked what they saw from Quince on film last year with the Extreme and that led to a personal workout and ultimately a contract."
Holman joined the Extreme midway through last season and finished sixth on team in total tackles with 37.5, including 28 solos in eight games. He had 11 tackles for loss, including five quarterback sacks, and blocked five kicks.
