Extreme's Burk, Raymond earn weekly UIF honors

Dusty Burk and Andre Raymond of the Bloomington Extreme were named recipients of United Indoor Football League awards, it was announced Friday.

Burk earned the Offensive Player of the Week honor, while Raymond was honored as the Special Teams Player of the Week. Both helped the Extreme to a 64-43 victory over Omaha last week at U.S. Cellular Coliseum.

Burk, who shared the weekly honor with fellow quarterback Chris Dixon of Billings , completed 24 of 31 passes for 239 yards and five touchdowns. He added 75 yards rushing and had three touchdowns o finish with 314 yards of total offense.

It marked the fourth time this season Burk has owned of shared the weekly honor. He leads the Extreme in passing with 2,388 yards and 45 touchdowns and in rushing with 311 yards and eight touchdowns.

Raymond returned eight kickoffs for 125 yards in the win over Omaha . He also rushed for a touchdown and caught three passes for 28 yards and a touchdown. It marked the first time in his career that Raymond has been honored by the UIF.

The Extreme (7-6) can earn the outright Eastern Conference title with a victory Saturday in a 7:05 p.m. contest at Sioux Falls (10-3). Bloomington has already clinched a berth in the Eastern Conference playoff championship game to be played Monday, June 30 at 7:05 p.m. at U.S. Cellular Coliseum.
