Altoona Curve News Release
(ALTOONA, PA)- The Altoona Curve returns to Blair County Ballpark Monday night to begin a six-game, seven-day homestand, which includes three games against both the Harrisburg Senators and New Hampshire Fisher Cats. The Curve and Senators, formerly an affiliate of the now-extinct Montreal Expos, meet for the first of 17 contests this season with a 6:35 p.m. start on Monday evening.
Recognizing all that is now extinct, the Curve will hold Extinction Night at Blair County Ballpark, complete with various games, food specials, and attire. The mascot Cosmo the Lafasaurus will be making his final appearance before joining the likes of the Montreal Expos and his fellow dinosaurs. Between innings Monday night, there will be games like Do-Do Bird Egg Toss, as well as "Name that Montreal Expo." Fans can also purchase the daily food special, "Wooly Mammoth Meatballs", for $5 and several Curve staff members will be dressed as Flintstone characters.
The series will continue Tuesday at 6:35 PM as the Curve will recognize the release of the new Star Wars movie, Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith, with Star Wars Night presented by Mountain Dew. The first 2,000 fans through the gates will receive a "May the Curve Be With You" Bracelet in anticipation of the movie release.
The Curve will conclude the three-game series with a School Kids Day game presented by Everybody's Hometown Against Big Tobacco.
