Round Rock Express News Release
ROUND ROCK, Texas â The Round Rock Express reading program, Hit a Home Run for Reading, will be back this year after a highly successful debut in 2003.
The Express will be teaming up with the Austin Area Teachers Federal Credit Union to deliver the program.
The program is designed to encourage third-grade students in the Round Rock Independent School District to read. By reading four books, students will be rewarded with tickets for themselves and their immediate family to the May 9th Express game against the Tulsa Drillers.
Rewards for reading one, two or three books will also be given.
Last year, 1,300 students took part in the program, reading over 5,000 books. This year, students and their families will be able to see how many books each school has read by visiting RoundRockExpress.com or the Austin Area Teachers Federal Credit Union at Aatfcu.org.
