San Angelo Stampede Express News Release
San Angelo, TX- The San Angelo Stampede Express (2-4) travel to Corpus Christi this Saturday May 23rd to take on yet another division rival, the Corpus Christi Hammerheads (2-5) at Citgo Field inside the Central Pavilion Arena.
The Stampede Express who are currently in third place look to take the early advantage this week for the final playoff spot in the Lone Star Division. The Stampede Express are coming off a heart breaking four point loss last week against the Odessa Roughnecks.
Quarter Back Sonny Cumbie was able to move the San Angelo offense up and down the field completing 31 of his 42 passes and throwing for 221 yards and three touchdowns. "With Cumbie having three full weeks of practice and two games under his belt with his receiver's, things will only get better. Our offense has been running much more smoothly and we have been able to put more points on the board, and with his experience it will only get better from here", said Interim Head Coach Billy Ray.
"We fought hard last week and just came up short, with our defense being more healthy this week and getting some of our key players back like LB Trea Ivory I feel very confident my guys are going to be able to come back with a win", said Coach Ray.
You can watch every away game live and on the big screen at Buffalo Wild Wings 4251 Sherwood Way or by clicking on the B2live link on the San Angelo Stampede Express Website. The San Angelo Stampede Express will be on the road again next Saturday when they travel to El Paso to take on the Generals.
