FRIDAY, MAY 22 - COLORADO ICE (3-5) @ OMAHA BEEF (5-2), 7:05 PM
Colorado heads in to Omaha to square off against a Beef squad fresh off their bye week. The Ice will be playing the second of three consecutive road contests this weekend, and hope to snap a two game losing streak. Colorado will rely on WR Josh Gibson to set up god field position for them in the return game. He is among the IFL leaders in All-Purpose yards with 126 per game.
Omaha is still sitting in first place in the crowded Central Division after a much needed rest last week. A win this weekend could help to extend that lead. Their third ranked scoring offense is lead by dual-threat QB James McNear who averages 222 yards of total offense per game.
FRIDAY, MAY 22 - BLOOMINGTON EXTREME (6-4) @ SAGINAW STING (3-7), 7:05 PM
Bloomington invades Michigan to face a Saginaw team looking to get back to their early season success. Last week, the Extreme took out the Thunder with ease en route to a 34 point victory. Filling in for injured QB Mitch Tanney, QB's Ronnie Simpson and Dusty Baker combined to throw for 162 yards and four touchdown passes.
The Sting, who started off the season 3-2, have not been able to find that rhythm they had early on this season. They have dropped their last five contests, but are still alive in the Atlantic Division playoff picture. Defenses must look out for DB Ernest Smith who has picked off four passes this season.
SATURDAY, MAY 23 - SIOUX FALLS STORM (3-6) @ MUSKEGON THUNDER (1-8), 7:00 PM
Sioux Falls storms into Muskegon to take on the Thunder this weekend. The Storm are very much alive in their "Strive for Five" Championships and won an all important tie-breaker game last week against Wichita. Running back Sean Treasure rushed for 71 yards and three scores to pace the balanced Sioux Falls Offense.
Muskegon has the opportunity to shock the IFL world if they can somehow upset the defending UIF Champions this weekend at home. To do that, they will need their offense, defense, and special teams to all play at their peak levels. K Scott Greene has been the Thunder's most consistent player.
SATURDAY, MAY 23 - EL PASO GENERALS (5-1) @ ABILENE RUFF RIDERS (4-3), 7:00 PM
The Lone Star State will host its first IFL Game of the Week this Saturday as the offensive minded Generals battle the defensive minded Ruff Riders. Led by QB Tommy Jones and WR Deangelo Woodie, the El Paso Offense is second in the IFL averaging 54 points per game. The teammates have combined for 12 TD's on the season
The Ruff Riders defensive unit has made a habit of causing turnovers this season. In total, Abilene has caused 7 fumbles and 12 interceptions. DB Joey Longoria has 8 of those 12 INT's himself which is tops in the league. Look for him to spy Tommy Jones all game.
SATURDAY, MAY 23 - BILLINGS OUTLAWS (7-1) @ FAIRBANKS GRIZZLIES (5-3), 7:00 PM
One versus two in the Pacific Division pits Billings against Fairbanks. The Outlaws have rattled off three straight wins since their lone loss of the year, and hope to make it four this Saturday in Alaska. QB Chris Dixon, coming off his Week 9 Offense Player of the Week award, will look WR James Walton who has caught an IFL best 21 TD passes.
The Grizzlies are riding their own two game winning streak heading into this much anticipated battle, and hope to avenge a loss to Billings earlier this season . WR Lonnie Sanders has made life easy for QB Justin Rummell this season. He averages more then 5 catches a game and has hauled in 15 TD's.
SATURDAY, MAY 23 - ODESSA ROUGHNECKS (2-5) @ WICHITA WILD (3-5), 7:05 PM
This match-up is crucial for Odessa and Wichita who are both fighting to gain ground in their respective playoff races. The Roughnecks are coming off a big inter-division win against San Angelo last week. WR Eric Taylor got open at will during that game, catching eight passes for 125 yards and three scores.
The Wild know that they did not play up to their capabilities last week against Sioux Falls and look to rebound this Saturday versus Odessa. Wichita will probably look to their ground game to get things going early in the game. RB Darius Fudge has averaged over 50 yds per game to go along with 11 TD's.
SATURDAY, MAY 23 - SAN ANGELO STAMPEDE EXPRESS (2-4) @ CORPUS CHRISTI HAMMERHEADS (2-5), 7:05 PM
The winner of this match-up between San Angelo and Corpus Christi will get the early advantage towards the final playoff spot in the Lone Star Division. The Stampede Express lost a heart breaking 4 point decision to Odessa last weekend and hope to turn their fortunes around against the Hammerheads. DB Jason Snell averages 6 tackles per game.
Corpus Christi is coming off a tough loss themselves after falling to Abilene on the road. They hope that playing in front of their home fans will propel them to another division win. Defensive backs Wali Munin and Jason Lee have combined for six interceptions this season
SATURDAY, MAY 23 -ROCHESTER RAIDERS (3-3) @ MARYLAND MANIACS (6-2), 7:05 PM
The Raiders head to Maryland looking to slow down a Maniacs squad that has won an IFL best six straight. The Raiders are coming off what could easily be described as their best performance of the year defeating the RiverCity Rage. The defense, led by DL Eddie Bynes, held the potent Rage attack to only 19 points. Their lowest output of the year.
The Maniacs show little signs of slowing down as they have won six straight games heading into this weekends match-up. WR Terry Moss has been giving opposing defenses fits each week. Last week against Saginaw, the talented WR had over 100 yards and caught two Bryson Spinner TD passes.
