Emeralds' bats go off offensively in game one of the series against the Spokane Indians.
In the second inning, the Ems drove in five runs by a two-out three RBI double by DH Najee Gaskins, an RBI double by RF Vaun Brown and an RBI double by CF Luis Matos to give them the 5-0.
Two innings later, Indians' 1B Hunter Goodman hits an RBI double to cash in RF Zac Veen to cut their lead down to 5-1.
The Emeralds hit back-to-back home runs on a two-run home run by LF Jairo Pomares and a solo home run by C Pat Bailey 8-1.
The score would stay this way until the ninth inning when Matos cleared the bases with a three-RBI double to give them the biggest lead of the game 11-1.
Spokane refused to stay quiet in the ninth when 3B Warming Bernabel hit a solo home run and an RBI single by C Ronaiker Palma to score DH Colin Simpson 11-3.
The Emeralds will be back in action tomorrow and will be looking to take a 2-0 lead in the series. First pitch is at 7:05 PM, 6:50 pregame show on 95.3 The Score.
