October 21, 2021 - United Soccer League Championship (USL)
Orange County SC News Release

ALL OF THE LIGHTS

Orange County SC concludes their 2021 USL Championship regular season schedule against Las Vegas Lights FC on Saturday, October 23 at Championship Soccer Stadium in Irvine at 7pm. OCSC won and scored three goals-Robbie Kiernan header, Thomas Enevoldsen penalty kick and Ronaldo Damus goal-during Vegas's September visit to the county. It was OCSC's first home victory in two months and has since won their last three out of four home games.

SCOTOBERFEST

Leading up to kick off, OCSC is hosting an all-new Scottish Festival beginning at 11am at Championship Soccer Stadium. There will be authentic Scottish food and drink vendors with Scottish music and dancing adding to the festivities. This Scottish Festival coupled with Fan Appreciation Night is a nod to OCSC's partnership with Scottish giants Rangers FC from Glasgow. Festival tickets also include match tickets.

RAKO THE WALL

In OCSC's current three match winning streak, zero goals have been scored against the defensively sound backline and goalkeeper Patrick Rakovsky. The German goalkeeper was rewarded for his efforts by being named an honorable mention in the USL Championship Team of the Week - Week 26. During the three consecutive clean sheets, Rakovsky has notched 10 saves and three clearances.

WASSSSUP PLAYOFFS

With a 1-0 victory over San Diego Loyal SC on Wednesday, October 20, OCSC clinched a spot in the 2021 USL Championship Playoffs. Needing just one point and a draw to book their ticket, OCSC went for the three points behind a magisterial direct free kick goal from Eric Calvillo and a four save performance from Patrick Rakovsky. OCSC returns to the postseason after missing out during the 2020 USL Championship season.

NO PLACE LIKE HOME

OCSC currently sits one point behind second place San Diego Loyal SC in the Pacific Division with both teams yet to play two more games before the season's conclusion. The race for second place and a first round home playoff match will go down to the wire. Should OCSC finish in second place, they will take on the third place team from the Mountain Division either on November 6 or 7 at Championship Soccer Stadium in Irvine. Tickets are on sale now at orangecountysoccer.com/playoffs.
