Florida Everblades News Release

Estero, FL - The Florida Everblades President/GM Craig Brush and Head Coach Gerry Fleming announced today that forward John Shouneyia has agreed to terms with the Everblades for the 2003-04 season. Shouneyia served as the University of Michigan Wolverines assistant captain during the 2002-03 season and registered 7 goals and 28 assists for 35 points in 37 games despite missing the first six weeks of the regular season with an injury. His 28 assists last season ranked first on the team and his 35 points ranked second on a team that fell in the NCAA Frozen Four semi-finals to the eventual NCAA champion. John registered 143 points in 163 collegiate games while at the University of Michigan and also notched 111 career assists which ranks 11th all-time at Michigan.

The Bloomfield Hills, Michigan native is the second player signed by Florida for the upcoming 2003-04 campaign. "John is a highly skilled, young forward who has a strong character and leadership ability. His competitive nature and playmaking ability will no doubt be an asset to our hockey club," stated Head Coach Gerry Fleming.
