ESPN Welcomes Sharks to Monday Night Football
February 13, 2014 - Arena Football League (AFL)
Jacksonville Sharks News Release
JACKSONVILLE - For the first time in franchise history, the 2013 South Division Champion Jacksonville Sharks will be featured on the ESPN family of networks. In the inaugural year of the Arena Football League's new partnership with ESPN, the Sharks' Week 18 home game against the New Orleans VooDoo will air live on ESPN2. The game kicks off at 8:00 p.m. on Monday, July 14.
"We are extremely excited to be part of ESPN's Monday Night Football broadcast this season," stated Managing Partner Jeff Bouchy. "In mid-July, Jacksonville will be showcased once again on national television and the entire country will witness why the Shark Nation are the best fans in the League. I expect ESPN to get a preview of what it is going to be like when we host ArenaBowl XXVII one month later."
In addition to the scheduled game on ESPN2, the Sharks could have up to two more opportunities to play on ESPN networks in 2014. One of the AFL's two conference championship games will air on ESPN2 on Sunday, August 10, while ESPN will broadcast ArenaBowl XXVII at 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 23.
