Grand Prairie AirHogs News Release

Grand Prairie, TX. Espinosa belted a one-out solo home run in the bottom of the ninth to give the AirHogs a 6-5 victory over the El Paso Diablos in front of 3,834 fans at QuikTrip Park. Espinosa's blast came off David Whigham who also gave up the winning run that helped Grand Prairie to a 7-6 win on Friday night.

Espinosa hit the first offering from Whigham deep to right field, redeeming himself for a throwing error in the top of the ninth that helped El Paso score two runs and tie the game at 5-5. It was Espinosa's third home run of the year and the AirHogs' third of the game.

Earlier in the game, Greg Porter picked up his 100th hit as a AirHog - a long three-run home run in the bottom of the first inning. Porter hit a 1-0 pitch off El Paso starter Shaun Ellis into the net in left field to give the AirHogs a quick 3-0 lead. The home run scored Antoin Gray and Espinosa who both drew one-out walks.

It was Porter's 13th home run of the season and RBIs 61, 62 and 63. Porter, who entered the contest batting .367, also collected its 101 and 102 with singles in the third and eighth innings.

Gray then got into the homerun parade with a towering two-run shot in the fourth inning that put the AirHogs ahead 5-1. It was also Gray's third home run of the season.

El Paso got a two-run home run from Hector Bernal off Grand Prairie starter Daniel Schmidt who pitched well despite the home run. Luke Prihoda had a strong stint in relief before giving way to Geivy Garcia in the ninth.

Garcia struggled by walking in the tying runs but picked up the win when Espinosa homered.

The AirHogs vs. Diablos series continues tomorrow night for "Dog Day" and "Baseball Card Team Set Giveaway" with gates opening at 5 p.m. and the first pitch scheduled for 6:05 p.m. Tickets are on-sale now and can be purchased in-person at the QuikTrip Park Box Office, located at 1600 Lone Star Parkway, Grand Prairie, TX 75050, by calling 972.504.9383 or visiting www.airhogsbaseball.com.
