(Edmonton) - The Edmonton Eskimo Football Club announces the signing of import defensive end Lindsey Witten.
"Lindsey is an athletic and versatile player who provides quality depth at a very strong position," says Eskimo Head Coach Kavis Reed.
The University of Connecticut product recorded 126 tackles in 49 games with the Huskies, including 29.5 for loss and 22 sacks. In 2009, he was a first team All-Big East selection. The following year, he signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers as an undrafted free agent and later spent time with the Hartford Colonials of the United Football League and the Calgary Stampeders.
