Edmonton, AB - The Edmonton Eskimos today announced the signing of free agent running back Jegil Dugger, the second all-time leading rusher at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
Dugger posted 453 carries for 1,979 yards and 13 TDs in 39 career games during four seasons (1998-2001) with the UAB Blazers. He earned second Team All-Conference USA honours in 2001 and had a team leading 839 yards on 218 carries and 6 TDs. A three year letterwinner at Midfield High School in Birmingham, Dugger was rated as one of the nations top 50 running backs by Tom Lemming's Prep Report. In his senior season, he ran for 1,555 yards and 16 TDs on 200 carries.

In 2001, Jegil led the Blazers with 218 carries for 839 yards and 6 TDs and was named to the Second Team All-Conference USA. His cousin Chad Williams plays for the NFL's Baltimore Ravens. In the off-season, Jegil works with special needs children at Monterallo High School in Birmingham.
