(Edmonton) The Edmonton Eskimos have released receiver Brad Smith and rookie defensive back Brian Bonner, the club announced today.
In 2010, his first with Edmonton, Smith registered two receptions for 18 yards in eight regular season games. The Queen ¬â¢s product also played with Toronto and Montreal during his four CFL seasons.
Bonner, signed as a free agent on April 25, 2011, appeared in four games this season, posting one defensive tackle, six kickoff returns for 101 yards and three punt returns for three yards.
The CFL West Division leading Edmonton Eskimos ( 6 ¬" 3) host the Calgary Stampeders ( 6 -3) Friday, September 9th in the Annual Labour Day Rematch. Kickoff at 7pm.
