
Eskimos release 2007 schedule

(Edmonton) The Edmonton Eskimos in conjunction with the CFL today announced the 2007 season schedule. The Esks will kick off the regular season Thursday, June 28 at Commonwealth Stadium against Winnipeg. It's the first time the Esks and Bombers have met in the season opener since 1983.
The Esks home schedule features two games against the Calgary Stampeders and a pair of tilts against Saskatchewan. The defending Grey Cup champion BC Lions pay one regular season visit to Commonwealth, Saturday, October 13th.
Eskimo Training Camp 2007 opens Saturday, June 2 with player medicals and the team will take the field at Clarke Stadium on Sunday, June 3rd. The Esks travel to Calgary for their first pre-season game Friday, June 15th. Edmonton hosts BC Thursday, June 21st in the second and final pre-season game.
Eskimo Director of Business Operations Greg Treble says, "Eskimo fans of all ages will be pleased with the 2007 schedule. Fans have told us they like Friday night and weekend games with earlier kick-off times. We have some exciting plans for the coming season, including the new Eskimo Igloo Family Zone, game day entertainment and enhancements to security and customer service."
