
Errors Prove Costly in 4-3 Loss for Blue Sox

Danbury, CT - Despite a solid performance from Nicolas Sanchez on the mound for the Blue Sox, errors would prove to be costly for the Blue Sox in their 4-3 loss on Monday night to the Westerners.
An error by the catcher, wild pitch and sacrifice fly is how the Westerners (9-13) were able to score their first three runs in the first and second inning.
Sanchez (0-1) finished the game going seven innings giving up four runs on three hits, six walks and five strikeouts.
Holyoke (11-11) would make a valiant run in the third inning pushing across three runs across in the third inning to tie the ballgame up.
Justin Morhardt got the scoring going with his second home run of the season, making it 3-1.
Later in the frame a pair of RBI singles from Joel Fisher, scoring Jason Lombardozzi, and Joseph Carcone, scoring Vahn Bozoian, tied up the game at three apiece.
Steven Green (1-1) would be able to keep the Blue Sox at bay the rest of the game though going five innings giving up eight hits, three runs, four walks and two strikeouts along the way.
All tied up in the bottom of the third, Daniel Spingola hit what would end up being the game-winning home run pushing the score to the final of 4-3.
The Blue Sox are back in action on Tuesday against the Keene Swamp Bats at Mackenzie Stadium.
It is Holyoke Millers Throwback night and there will be a special on popcorn is it will be sold for only $1, which was the 1982 pricing.
First pitch is set for 6:35 p.m. with the gates opening at 5:30 p.m.
