Frederick Keys News Release

In a game you would not show your little leaguer at home, the Keys outlasted Winston-Salem in an error-laded contest, defeating the Dash 8-3 on Tuesday night. With the win, the Keys have equaled their second best first half win total in franchise history with win number 41.

The game got off to a quirky start as LF Bobby Stevens was hit by the games first pitch. He then stole second base and on the throw which went into centerfield, Stevens got third. It would be symbolic of the night that would follow.

Winston-Salem committed five errors in the game's first four innings and just like an evening earlier it was the Keys with the early lead. Up 4-0 through three innings Frederick did not look back. Starter Oliver Drake worked deep into the game once again going 7 and 2/3rd innings while allowing just two runs.

Frederick 3B Dale Mollenhauer, two year with Winston-Salem prior, had three hits and three runs in the win. The top four batters in the Keys order scored seven of the Keys eight runs.

The Keys have won 17 of its last 20 games since a May 25th loss in Wilmington.

The series concludes as the Keys look for the sweep Wednesday, June 15th at 7:00 p.m. Carolina League Pitcher of the Week Nick Haughian will be on the hill. Airtime is 6:40 p.m. on 1450-AM The Source.

Frederick will return home for the Principal Financial Dreams Tour with Orioles legend Chris Hoiles at the ballpark Thursday, June 23rd as the Keys will host Winston-Salem at 7:00 p.m. For tickets contact the Keys Box Offices at 1-877-8-GO-KEYS or online at frederickkeys.com.
