Erie Otters News Release
Erie, Pennsylvania - A new season always brings about rekindled excitement around the community, and the feeling of hope and anticipation for what awaits on the road ahead.
The Erie Otters, in conjunction with Erie Events and corporate business partners located downtown, are thrilled to introduce a number of additions, changes, and new opportunities in-and-around the Otters organization. These announced supplements are designed to allow for a better quality-of-life fan experience before, at, and after the game - as well as allow for attendees and fans to feel more connected to the team.
"Arena District" Offers Extended Game Day Downtown
In collaboration with downtown-based corporate partners, the Erie Otters are thrilled to announce the launch of the organization's first-ever "Arena District".
The "Arena District" will utilize the Erie Insurance Arena's geographic proximity to downtown Erie to create an all-new approach to game day environments in the Flagship City.
Every Friday and Saturday home game day, the Erie Otters and select partner businesses will offer exclusive specials and offers for fans wearing their Otters gear before and after the game. This new venture will celebrate Erie's hometown-proud food and beverage culture while supporting local businesses.
Perry's Tavern, Lavery Brewing Company, Voodoo Brewing Company, and The BrewErie at Union Station will be the inaugural members of the Arena District, and offer awesome deals to Otters fans on the select game days.
From 4:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. on Friday and Saturday home game days (excl. the Home Opener), fans will be able to enjoy the following specials:
Perry's Tavern (located in the Flagship City Food Hall)

Erie Insurance Arena Streamlining Game Day Experience
As part of a continued effort to improve the guest experience, Erie Events announced that all concession stands at the Erie Insurance Arena (as well as the Warner Theatre and Bayfront Convention Center) will now only accept cashless forms of payment. Digital payments are faster, safer and easier.
"Erie Events will join venues across the country in transitioning to a cashless experience, creating a faster, more efficient and more secure payment system for patrons," said Gus Pine, Erie Events Executive Director. "Being cashless will reduce the wait time in line and make transactions quicker." Credit cards, debit cards and mobile payments will be accepted.
The first cashless event takes place on Saturday, September 30, 2023 with the Otters home opener. The Erie Events box office will continue to accept cash for payment along with credit and debit cards. Cash will also be accepted at all parking garages. Fans will still be able to use both cash and cashless forms of payment for 50/50, at the Otters' Den team store, and the Harrell Automotive Fan Assistance Center.
As was first utilized during preseason games at the Erie Insurance Arena, upgraded security magnetometers ("mags") have been installed to allow people to keep keys, cell phones, and other like items in their pockets while walking into the arena. This newly upgraded equipment will help to allow fans easier, faster, and safer access into the Arena.
Official Brew & Official Barbecue Bring The Otters To Your Home
As was announced late last week, the Erie Otters and Erie's own Lavery Brewing Company have launched a full-season version of their YOU OTTER BEER HERE lager. This beer, launching Wednesday, September 27 with a special event at The Bunker at Lavery Brewing, will be available on draft and in cans firstly at the brewery. All season at the EIA, including at the upcoming second-annual Fan Fest, fans will be able to indulge in the sudsy support of the team with cans of the brew being available in venue.
An exciting new partnership between the Erie Otters and The Que Abides - Erie's first food truck and Fairview's favorite pit stop - kicks off during Home Opener weekend as well. By visiting The Que Abides' food truck at the Fan Fest on Saturday, fans will be able to try and purchase 'Otto's Slap Shot Sauce' - a sweet and flavorful BBQ sauce for the whole family. This delicious addition to your next meal can be purchased in bottles both at the Food Truck on Saturday, or any time in the future at The Que Abides Pit Stop in Fairview.
The Erie Otters are ecstatic to continue to work alongside locally-owned-and-operated independent businesses to promote camaraderie and collaboration, and allow fans new ways to support their favorite team.
