Erie Explosion Add All-Pro Linebacker Brenton Brady

(Erie, PA)- The Erie Explosion, proud members of the Southern Indoor Football League, have announced the signing of All-Pro Linebacker Brenton Brady to a contract for the 2011 season. Brady (6'1, 245) comes to the Explosion from the Rochester Raiders of the Indoor Football League where he was named to the 2010 IFL All-Pro Team. He finished the 2010 season ranked 4th in total tackles in the entire twenty-five team Indoor Football League. Brady finished his impressive 2010 campaign with 117 total tackles, 1 sack, 3 forced fumbles, and 4 pass break-ups.

An perennial All-Pro performer at the indoor and arena levels, Brady played for the Rochester Raiders in the IFL & CIFL, and in Arena Football 2 with the Albany Conquest & Mahoning Valley Thunder. Playing linebacker for Albany in 2008, Brady amassed 42.5 total tackles, 2 sacks, and 5.5 tackles for a loss. A product of Alfred University, he was named to the AFCA All-American Team, three-time Empire 8 All-Conference linebacker, and was named the 2004 ECAC Northeast Region Player of the Year. As a senior he finished the season with a team-high 98 tackles (61 solo, 12 1/2 tackles for loss and six sacks) to go with four forced fumbles (tops in the Empire 8 and 21st in the nation among Division III players) and an interception. That season marked the third straight year that Brady, who converted from tailback to linebacker after his freshman season, had notched at least 90 tackles.
