The Pioneers have traded RHP Eric Estes to Albany-Colonie for OF Brandon Pernell. .Eric Estes started six games for Elmira has a record of 3-3, with a 5.50 ERA. He went 6-3, 2.51 with the Pioneer last season.
Pernell was the starting CF for the Diamond-Dogs. He was hitting .241, had two home-runs, and twenty rbi's with 6 sb's on the season. The Torrance, Calif. native has previously played in the Padres and Cubs farm systems. Last year with Duluth-Superior he hit .313 with 8 HR's and 45 rbi's with 22 sb's.
In others roster moves, the Pioneers have acquired catcher Kyle Perry off waivers. Perry was hitting .172 with 3 rbi's in 8 games with Albany-Colonie.
Elmira has released pitcher Jordan Griswold and catcher Luke Syfert.
