Enzo Martinez Named to USL Championship Team of the Week

TAMPA, Fla. - The USL Championship announced the Team of the Week for Week 12 of the 2022 regular season on Tuesday, with Legion FC attacker Enzo Martinez earning a spot in the team thanks to his goal and all-around effort in Friday night's BHM win at New York Red Bulls II.

Excelling immediately in his first season in Birmingham, Martinez continues to showcase his well-rounded game. On top of scoring his second goal of the season, #19 also completed three of four dribbles, won 12 of 19 duels, had four tackles two interceptions, one clearance, and created one big chance. This is the second time this season Martinez has been named to the Team of the Week, and the sixth inclusion for Legion FC.

New Mexico United's Justin Portillo was named USLC Player of the Week, as he earned 80 percent of the ballot to claim the award after bagging three goals and an assist across a pair of NM victories last week. Louisville City FC's Cameron Lancaster finished second on 20 percent as he recorded a pair of goals in his return to the starting lineup after a preseason injury on Saturday to lead LouCity to a 4-1 victory against FC Tulsa at Lynn Family Stadium.

The Championship's Player of the Week is selected by the USL National Media Panel, which is made up of representatives from each media market in the Championship.
