
Enforcers Give Up Lead Late, Fall in Shootout

Enforcers headed up to Watertown to begin a three game series with the Wolves as they continue to seek a series victory against Watertown and clinch second place as well as home ice advantage in the first round of the playoffs.
The Enforcers had a goal waived off after Stepan Timofeyev through one at the net that bounced off the back netting and somehow ended up in the net, but was quickly waived off. The Enforcers made good however late in the period as Timofeyev again ripped a shot that went off netminder Jared Rutledge's pad and right onto the awaiting stick of Dmytro Babenko who scored at 12:43 to give the Enforcers a 1-0 lead despite being outshot 20-19.
The second period looked much like the first, a lot of rubber from the Wolves and moore scoring by the Enforcers. Gavin Yates put one by his former team at 4:08 to double the lead for the Enforcers, while Anton Lennartsson was not going to be left out at 15:41 as Sean Reynolds dropped a pass to Timofeyev who dropped another pass to Lennartsson to give the Enforcers a 3-0 lead at the end of two despite being outshot 44-31. Troy Passingham made amazing save after amazing save to keep the Wolves off the board.
The third period completely turned around aa former Enforcer Tyler Prendergast started off the scoring too be followed by Tyler Gjurich, Deric Boudreau, and another former Enforcers Sam Williams put the Wolves ahead. Cameron Yarwood eventually answered back with 1:39 on the time clock. Yarwood's goal forced overtime where nothing would be decided.
Each team had five opportunities in the shootout, but only Prendergast was able to score giving Watertown a 5-4 win.
