September 9, 2009 - Central Hockey League (CHL)
Amarillo Gorillas News Release

Amarillo, TX 9/9/09 - With training camp approaching, the Amarillo Gorillas have signed two energy players in blue-liner Dan McNeill and forward Taylor Guay.

McNeill, 27 (04/14/1982), skated last year with Flint of the International Hockey League, accumulating 141 penalty minutes (more than his previous 7 seasons combined) over 62 games with the Generals.

"I would say Dan is another large defenseman who provides a physical presents," remarked Gorillas Head Coach Brian Pellerin. "He has proven himself as a stay-at-home defenseman at this level."

The Scarborough, Ontario native has bounced around since he began his hockey career in 2000, playing for eight separate squads in eight seasons (Guelph Storm of the OHL, Pickering Panthers of the OPJHL, Victoriaville Tigres of the QMJHL, Roanoke Express of the ECHL, Tulsa Oilers, Asheville Aces of the SPHL, Brock University of the CIS, Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees, and Flint Generals). In his two stints in the Central Hockey League, McNeill appeared in 42 games in 07-08 with Rio Grande Valley and 17 games in 03-04 with Tulsa.

Guay (pronounced GAY) comes to the Gorillas after spending his last four seasons with the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. The Boulder, Colorado local collected 13 goals and 7 assists during his career with the Pointers.

"Taylor is a young forward who we believe will contribute not only offensively, but provide energy on every shift as well," added Pellerin. "I think Taylor will be someone our fans will want to keep an eye on throughout the season."

Before playing at Wisconsin-Stevens Point, the 25-year-old skated two seasons for the North American Hockey League's Springfield Spirit (36 points over 87 games).
