Empire Sports Begins Destroyers Schedule Sunday

(BUFFALO, NY) – The Buffalo Destroyers began the 2002 season on a high note last week defeating the New Jersey Gladiators 53-51 at the HSBC Arena. This week, the Destroyers hit the road for the first time in 2002 to meet the New York Dragons, Sunday, April 28 at noon at the Nassau Coliseum. Sunday's game will also mark the 2002 debut of the Empire Sports Network's game coverage of the Buffalo Destroyers.

Empire Sports is carrying four games this season including Sunday at New York, and will also televise next week, May 11 at Detroit, May 25 at Grand Rapids and July 6 at Georgia.

"We are excited to be on Empire because it gives Destroyers fans in Western New York and across the country a chance to see this years team in action," said Destroyers head coach and general manager Ray Bentley.

Fan TV co-host and WNSA 107.7 talk show host Jim Brinson returns for his fourth season as the "Voice of the Destroyers" and will be paired in the booth with his Fan TV co-host Bob Trimble who provide color commentary, moving up from his previous role as sideline reporter. Bremante Bryant joins the crew this season as the sideline reporter.

"Empire Sports has been televising Destroyers games since their inception four years ago," said Empire Sports host Bob Trimble. "I feel like as the Destroyers have grown...we've grown with them from the very start and there's no question we're very happy to be a part of what promises to be the most exciting and successful season in franchise history."

Also, throughout the season, Empire Sports will carry the "Destroyers Report" live every Monday at 5:30 PM from the Destroyers Amherst Practice Facility. The "Ray Bentley Show" on radio airs Friday's at 8:05 AM with Howard Simon on WNSA 107.7 FM.

All Destroyers games can be heard on radio on WNSA 107.7 with Brinson, Trimble and Bryant providing the coverage. The four Empire telecasts will be simulcast on WNSA.
