SPOTLIGHT PLAYER

A "clutch performer" can be defined as a player who makes plays when it counts or when the game is on the line. San Jose SaberCats' Rookie DS/KR CLEVAN THOMAS took a page from that dictionary in last week's 52-51 victory over rival Arizona. Thomas recorded a game-high 7.5 (7 solo) tackles and had 6 kick returns for 134 yards (including a 25-yard KO return that set up the game-winning TD drive. The key to his performance came late in the fourth quarter when he intercepted SHERDRICK BONNER in endzone with 1:03 left in game to preserve win.
