Emile Sheperd Named Head Coach Of Houston Takers

Houston, TX. Veteran head coach Emile Sheperd has been named head coach of the ABA Houston Takers for the upcoming season that begins in December. According to Larry Leonard II, team owner, "We are sorry to see Orlando Woolridge leave; he is an excellent coach and we have become very good friends as we are from the same area in Louisiana and really connected. But, Orlando wanted to be closer to his son who is a standout college player and wants to watch him develop, hopefully into a future NBA star like his Dad. He wears the original "Agent O" jersey just like Orlando."
"When Coach Woolridge told me about the decision to leave, I immediately thought of another very good friend with outstanding coaching credentials, including successful ABA teams, Emile Sheperd," added Leonard. "Emile called me Friday and made it official, and we couldn't be happier. We won't miss a beat. And we certainly wish Orlando well in the future."
In additional news, tickets to the big pre-season exhibition game with the Streetball Legends will be available this week when the new Houston Takers website is launched. "Because of Hurricane Ike, we are a bit behind schedule as we lost everything in our office including our files," stated Leonard. "But we're getting back on our feet and the tickets for the November 15th game will be available quickly."
