Emeralds Release 2018 Promotional Schedule
EUGENE, OR - With just 50 days remaining until Opening Night at PK Park, the Eugene Emeralds are proud to announce their promotional schedule for the 2018 season! The Emeralds will make their return this summer on June 15th, taking on the Vancouver Canadians in a rematch of last year's Northwest League Championship Series.
Winners of the past 7 NWL Larry MacPhail Award nominations, the Emeralds continue their dedication to providing awesome family entertainment every night. This summer's giveaway schedule includes a Monarcas de Eugene shirt giveaway on June 16th, the first night in the club's Copa de la Diversión celebration featuring Los Monarcas de Eugene. On Father's Day, June 17th, the first 500 kids through the gates will get their hands on their own Youth Glove, presented by McKenzie-Willamette Medical Center. To get ready for beach season, fans will want to arrive early for the Canvas Tote giveaway on June 23rd, presented by Pepsi, and the Superhero Cape Beach Towel giveaway on July 7th, presented by Kendall Toyota. Add to your growler collection on August 4th with an Ems Growler giveaway, presented by Bigfoot Beverages, before a season-ending giveaway weekend in late August. On August 24th, Sandlot Night features a custom Hamilton "Ham" Porter Bobblehead giveaway, presented by Kendall Toyota, while August 25th features an Ems Cap Giveaway, presented by Baseballism.
The Ems are also very proud to be a part of Minor League Baseball's Copa de la Diversión series this summer, transforming into Los Monarcas de Eugene for 6 nights this season, honoring and welcoming the local Latino community to PK Park. All Tuesdays, plus Saturday June 16th, this summer will be Solamente Martes, presented by Sol Cerveza, Kendall Toyota, Mountain Dew, and Carl's Jr. During these night, the Ems will take on the identity of Los Monarcas de Eugene, donning special jerseys along with PK Park playing Latino music and featuring popular Latino food. The Blue Demon will also be making his way to PK Park on July 24th.
New theme nights and promotions also fill the calendar this summer, highlighted by Grateful Dead Weekend (6/29 & 7/1), Ghostbusters Night (7/26), and Arm Wrestling Night (8/16). Plenty of fan-favorite nights return as well, including Princess Night (7/18), a 40th Anniversary Celebration of Animal House (8/17), and Star Wars Night (8/18).
Be on the lookout for Ems' Specialty Jersey nights as well. Grateful Dead Weekend features tie-dye jerseys in an ode to all Deadheads. The 3rd of July not only stars post-game fireworks, but also Commemorative Independence Day jerseys. Other jersey nights include Ugly Christmas Sweater tops on July 25th, American Hero jerseys on August 3rd, and Toga jerseys for Animal House Night on August 17th. All specialty jerseys will be auctioned off during the game, with proceeds aiding local non-profit organizations.
Individual tickets will go on sale May 5th during the Ems Block Party at PK Park, from Noon until 2pm. This will be the first chance for fans to grab seats for the most popular nights, such as Opening Night and the 3rd of July, while also enjoying some good food, activities for kids, and a look at team merchandise. The Eugene Emeralds are the short-season Class A affiliate of the Chicago Cubs.
