Emeralds' Offense Goes Big in Game One against AquaSox

The Emeralds put 16 runs on the board to surpass the Everett Aquasox in game one of the series 16-9.

In the first three innings, the Emeralds were able to jump on a 4-0 lead on an RBI single by LF Jairo Pomares in the first, RBI triple by DH Riley Mahan in the second, RBI sacrifice fly by RF Vaun Brown and a solo home run by SS Casey Schmitt.

But in the third and fourth innings, the Aquasox were able to cash in six runs on a two-RBI double by SS Noelvi Marte, RBI single by DH Mitch Haniger and a three-run home run by Marte.

Emeralds' offense would go off in the fifth and sixth inning as they scored a total of nine runs on a grand slam by C Pat Bailey in the fifth, a two-RBI single by 2B Jimmy Glowenke, fielder's choice by Bailey and a throwing error by Marte cashed in two.

The Aquasox added three runs to their deficit on an RBI single by RF Alberto Rodriguez in the sixth and a two-RBI double by Marte in the seventh.

To put the cherry on top, the Emeralds drove in three more runs in the eighth on an RBI single by Glowenke, an RBI walk by Brown and an RBI sacrifice fly by CF Luis Matos.
