Pensacola Blue Wahoos News Release
MOBILE, Ala. - The Cincinnati Reds announced today that RHP Elvin Ramirez has earned a promotion to Triple-A Louisville. Ramirez has appeared in 11 games with the Blue Wahoos this summer. He held opponents to a .250 clip over 16.2 innings.
Ramirez spent part of the 2012 season playing for the New York Mets. He made 20 Major League appearances that year and totaled 22 strikeouts for the Mets. This will be the right-hander's second stint with the Bats this season. He went up in mid-May before returning to Pensacola later in the month.
The organization has not made a corresponding move at this time.
The Blue Wahoos look to continue their recent momentum into the final series of the first half when they open play on the 2014 installment of the Bay-to-Bay series in Mobile on Wednesday night at Hank Aaron Stadium. The Blue Wahoos will send RHP Daniel Corcino (6-4, 3.13) to the mound against RHP Justin Fitzgerald (5-0, 3.71).
