
Elks to Host World War II Veterans Opening Night on Friday

In continuing the tradition of honoring veterans at Vince Genna Stadium, the Bend Elks Baseball Club will be hosting the "Bend Band of Brothers," a special group of military veterans and their efforts to send vets back to DC to visit the recently built WW2 War Memorial. On tap for Opening Night is the traditional pomp and circumstance to be played while honoring our troops.ÃÂ Bag Pipes, Full Color Guard, and a WW2 Medal of Honor recipient will throw out the first pitch. This will be done many different ways as ticket proceeds, a silent auction, and other fund raising efforts on Opening night are intended to help fund the Band of Brothers efforts to transport vets to Washington DC to visit the WW2 Memorial.Any WW2 vet in attendance June 10 is offered free admission.
Friday's game on opening night will also be free pocket schedule giveaway night, as they will be available for all fans in attendance.
