Elks Lose to AppleSox 8-1

Bend Elks News Release
Clay Bauer had difficulty locating his fastball early on in the game, and walks proved to be a pivotal factor in the game as both teams combined for only 9 hits, but it was the 10 walks that proved to be the demise of the elks as all 8 runners that scored reached on walk or error, and the Elks fell 8-1.
Bauer got the start for the Elks but would only last 4 innings, throwing 85 pitches and giving up 3 runs (2 earned) on 2 hits, but walked 6 and committed an error when he threw a bunted ball by Wenatchee's Tyler Schultz wide of Michael Hirko covering the bag, allowing the 2nd of 3 runs to score in the inning, giving the Apple Sox a 3-1 lead after 2.
The score would stay 3-1 for 6 innings until the bottom of the 8th when the Apple Sox scored 5 runs on two Elks relievers, and they wouldn't look back with the 8-1 lead.
Bo Walter had the only multi-hit game for the Elks, who will look to respond tomorrow in the 3 game series against the Apple Sox, first pitch at 7:05.
