Elks Fall to Wenatchee 5-3

July 8, 2012 - West Coast League (WCL)
Bend Elks News Release

It appeared early on that the Elks would continue to cruise at home against the Wenatchee AppleSox, but Wenatchee bucked the trend, scoring a run in the second, a run in the fourth, and three runs in the fifth on their way to defeating the Elks by a score of 5-3.

After getting three hits against Wenatchee starter Beau Kearns, the Elks managed only three hits the rest of the way as Kearns retired the final 7 batters he faced in picking up the win.

Offensively for the Elks, Darian Ramage went 1-5 with a run, Kyle Gallegos went 1-3 with an RBI and a run, and Grant Newton had an RBI double in the loss, though the Elks would end up taking 3 of the 4 in the series.

The Elks will take Monday off before returning to action Tuesday against the Walnut Creek Crawdads, first pitch set for 6:35 p.m.
